Where the Toc Toc Dance came from
The look comes from Jean Phil, a deadpan character with a blonde bob and a brown 1970s suit whose Instagram and TikTok accounts first posted in mid-September 2026 and picked up more than 145,000 Instagram followers within days. Nobody has said who makes him, and he is almost certainly AI-generated.
The dance itself spread in early October as group clips set to “Toc toc”, a 2015 knock-knock song by the French entertainer Patrick Sébastien. The moves are simple and very repeatable: a flat stare, bent knees, a kick, loose arms. The door version turns it into a party, with a host opening up and guests shuffling in one after another, which is exactly why it works so well with friends.
Tips for a better Toc Toc Dance video
- Use a clear, front-facing photo for each person. Full-length photos work best because the whole outfit changes, not just the face.
- Match photos to slots in the order people come through the door, so your best friend gets the big entrance.
- Leave a slot empty to keep the original dancer in that spot.
Toc Toc Dance AI: questions
How many people can be in my Toc Toc Dance video?
The door version has 8 spots: the host and up to 7 guests. You can fill all of them or just one. The solo version has a single dancer.
Is the preview really free?
Yes. Your first preview is 4 seconds long, 480p and watermarked, and it costs nothing. You only pay if you want the full-length clip without the watermark.
How long does it take?
The free 4-second preview takes about 5–10 minutes and the full video about 10–20 minutes. Keep the tab open for a browser alert, or close it and we email you a link.
What photos work best?
Bright, sharp photos of one person each, facing the camera, ideally showing the whole body. Avoid sunglasses, heavy filters and group photos in a single slot.
What resolution is the final video?
The full video comes in 480p ($4.99), 720p ($9.90) or 1080p ($14.90), vertical 9:16, sized for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. You pick the resolution when you pay.
Can I use pets?
The engine is built for people. Pet photos sometimes work, but we cannot promise it, so try the free preview first.
Is this affiliated with Patrick Sébastien or Jean Phil?
No. This is an independent fan tool and is not connected to the song's artist, label, or the Jean Phil accounts.
